Department of Psychology was  established in the year 1981 and since then the department had been serving  as an auxillary department for Departments of Sociology,Home Science and Social Work.  Department had been offering complementary courses for BA Sociology and Core courses for MSW till 2020.  BSC Psychology Programme was granted by the University of Calicut during the year 2020.The department offers UG Programme in Psychology with Human Physiology and Statistics as complementary courses.

• * PSO1-Acquire skills to understand human behavior
• * PSO2- Understand the application of Psychology in fields like education, health, human development, social behavior, abnormal behavior and counseling
• * PSO3-Develop skills to understand the applications of principles of research in Psychology
• * PSO4- Develop knowledge and skills in analyzing and understanding mental disorders
• * PSO5- Perform standardized Psychological tests in the areas of intelligence, personality, attention, motor skills, perception, learning and memory
• * PSO6- Acquaint knowledge about the Psychotherapeutic methods used in Psychology

  * Candidates who have passed (Eligible for Higher Studies) the HSE of the Kerala State Board of Higher Secondary Examination or any other examination recognised as equivalent thereto are eligible for admission
