Curricular activities

In addition to the conventional teaching methods, the students are involved in participatory learning activities like,

Field trips and study tours for geographical and floristic studies

Exposure visit to research institutions

Departmental seminars on topics like Conservation of Plant Genetic Resources, Diversity of Kerala Forest, Biopesticides, Organic Farming, Orchid cultivation and marketing, Ethnobotany and Medicinal plants etc.

Interdepartmental seminars on Biodiversity Conservation and Sustainable Development National seminars on Recent trends in Fresh water Biology  Exhibition cum workshops on topics like Medicinal plants and their active principles, Soil analysis technique, Fruit preservation, Coconut products and delicacies, Mushroom cultivation etc.

One Day awareness program on Medicinal Plants in  daily Life sponsored by KSCSTE, Tvm.

Science Popularization Programmes were organized sponsored by KSCSTE, Tvm

The World Environment Day 2016 was observed by conducting a series of programmes including Essay writing Competitions, Quiz, Popular lectures by experts.
