Student Support




A one year continuous programme was initiated by NSS unit which has been given the name “ Mazhavillu”. The idea behind the programme was to adopt Villadom Govt HSS for one year where the NSS unit had to help the IED wing of that school. The programme was inaugurated by Mrs Santha Appu, Councillor, Thrissur on 16th July 2016. There are more than 70 mentally challenged students who need special care. The volunteers are helping the students in their academic and extra curricular activities on every Saturdays.









Discussion on anti corruption

A discussion on anti corruption was conducted on 20th July 2016 with the help of Mr. Ramachandran (DYSP, Vigilance Office, Thrissur). He interacted with the students about  the corruption and the anti corruption.


























Participation in one day Workshop

Our volunteers participated in the one day district level workshop on voice/scribe/ companion bank for the Blinds organised by All Kerala Blind Association at Govt.College Kutanellur on 9/8/2016.







Swacha Bharath Pakhawada

            The NSS unit, Vimala College, Thrissur in collaboration with the Health department, Vilvattom initiated the cleaning programmes at the 5th ward of Thrissur Corporation on 11/8/2016.  Sri Samil Babu, Health Inspector, Cheroor inaugurated the programme. Principal Dr Sr Maries V L read out the oath to be repeated by the volunteers. After oath taking, there was a rally to the spot. Officers of the Health Department Sri Mani Prasad, Smt. Rasiya, Councillor Smt. Preseeja, Previous Councillor Gopakumar, Sri. Anil Impuls were present and gave motivation to students. Volunteers cleaned the road side and collected the plastic materials. NSS Programme officers Dr Mimi Mani and Laveena Varghese   supported the volunteers. The cleaning event was a great success with the participation of all the volunteers.

           In the leadership of NSS volunteers, students were asked to clean the college campus and classrooms in connection with the Swacha Bharath programme.













Independance day celebration

In connection with Independence Day celebrations, the NSS unit of Vimala College, Thrissur arranged a honouring ceremony of  the  Ex-Service men at the college from the 7th Division of Thrissur Corporation. Councillor Sri K Krishnankutty and  Vimala College Principal Dr Sr Maries V L honoured them. Fifteen Ex Service men were participated in the programme and shared their experience to the students.







International Youth Day Celebrations

As a part of International Youth day, Vimala College, Thrissur organised various functions as well as entertainment programmes on 12/8/2016. Programmes have begun by oath taking led by Principal Dr Sr Maries V L, which unlock the key to colourful performances by the students. The programmes were organized by NSS unit in association with the music club of the college. Programme was followed by patriotic song competition.

Two of our volunteers attended the meeting organized at Calicut University in connection with youth day celebrations.
