The Student Grievance Redressal Cell is constituted of two senior teachers, student advisor, a legal advisor and a junior teacher.
The students are informed of such a support system on the very first day of admission by the coordinators of the Cell. They are given a briefing of its functioning and procedure. It is also mentioned in their Handbook.
Besides the GRC, there are two suggestion boxes made available on the campus for students to drop their grievance and suggestions. These are checked regularly by the coordinators and redressed as per the needs.
The other ways of redressing grievances are through the Anti-Ragging cell, tutorial system, Student Union, class representatives, and counseling. There are more than 150 .grievances recorded in the GRC in the last five years.
When the grievance is concerned with the public facility like transportation, harassment, bank facility etc they have to give the complaint in writing and follow up action is taken immediately.
E.g.:-1. Non stopping of buses at Viyyoor, Power house, Pallimoola etc. 2. Buses avoiding students due to concession 3. Over speeding of buses 4. Eve teasing in buses and public places.
