Beyond Books

  1. In connection with 75th Independence Day Celebrations Vimala College (Autonomous), Thrissur, Department of Computer Science conducted Student to Student Reach out Programme (S2S).Students from B.Voc Web Technology turned out to be the volunteers for the programme. 55 students from different departments (Chemistry, Physics, Sociology, Statistics, Commerce, English, Zoology, Botany, and Home Science) were given training in GSuite tools (Google Docs/Sheets/Slides/Forms) by the volunteers. The training requirements of students were collected by Google form. Then students were assigned to volunteers for training. Majority of the volunteers took session on one to one basis. Few students conducted the sessions in group of 2 or 3.Google meet/Zoom platform was used for the training session. The student feedback was collected and it indicated that students were happy with the session and found it useful for their future studies. The main issue faced was the clash with timings of students and events of different departments. Students mainly did the training as per their convenience during the weekends (Saturday and Sunday) or after the class timings. The programme gave opportunity to students to expand their IT and communication skills.
