Principal's Message

  Many are Called, but only a few are chosen, says the Scripture. This academic year, the 57^th year of this acclaimed institution arrived with new views, visions ventures and endavours.

        The realm of higher education with the implementation of the Four year Under Graduate programme marks a significant paradigm shift in Indian higher education. Moving away from rigid, discipline-specific curricula, FYUGP embraces flexibility, allowing students to customize their learning paths by choosing subjects from various streams. It emphasizes holistic development through the inclusion of vocational education, life skills and extracurricular activities. A key feature is the multiple exit options, enabling students to earn a certificate, diploma, or degree based on their progression, reducing the pressure of completing a traditional four-year degree. The program also fosters innovation through research-focused learning and promotes credit mobility across institutions, making education more adaptable, student-centric, and aligned with the needs of a dynamic job market.

Dr Sr Beena Jose, the principal of Vimala college is an erudite scholar with manifold academic achievements:  research guideship, publications in refereed international journals, overseas paper presentations, international visiting scholar at Scholarship and Christianity in Oxford(SCIO), United Kingdom, minor and major research projects including, postdoctoral fellowship at Santa Clara University, California, TORCH fellowship from Ian Ramsey Centre, University of Oxford, membership in APCBEES, and so forth.
