Dr Salini K, Assistant Professor and Research Guide of the PG Department of Commerce and Research, edited the book. The release was done by Sr Tesseena P. Emmatty, Vice Principal, and Dr Preema Rose Nichlavose, Head of the Department, in the presence of all faculty members and PG students of the department on 28/02/2025 at noon at Carmel Conference Hall, Vimala College (Autonomous), Thrissur. The book contains valuable contributions by the students and faculty of Vimala College and other colleges.
The PG Department of Sociology, in association with the Fire Force Academy, organized a field visit to the Kerala Fire and Rescue Services Academy, Thrissur, as part of the Disaster Management multidisciplinary course. Conducted by Officers Radhakrishnan, Aswin, and Vishnu, the session provided valuable insights into disaster preparedness, emergency response, and rescue operations. Students participated in hands-on training, including CPR and first aid demonstrations, enhancing their confidence in handling emergency situations. The visit emphasized the importance of teamwork, coordination, and communication in disaster management. This enriching experience highlighted the need for disaster awareness and preparedness, paving the way for future collaborations with the Fire Force Academy.

Ardra K Baburaj ( S4 B Com (Reg)) bagged the Best Literary Artist title with maximum points. Sreelakshmi K(S4 B A Sociology) and Rajasree Rajeev (S2 M A English) were selected as the first and second runners up respectively.

The Department of Mathematics, Vimala College (Autonomous), Thrissur, in association with KMA, successfully organized a one-day National Seminar on Fuzzy Mathematics on January 31, 2025. The seminar was inaugurated by Dr. Sr. Maggy Jose, Education Councillor, CMC Nirmala Province, and the presidential address was delivered by Dr. Sr. Beena Jose, Principal of Vimala College. During the inaugural session, Fr. Binoy SJ shared his insights on the intersection of Mathematics and Theology, offering a unique interdisciplinary perspective. Dr. Viswanathan Narayanan, Secretary of KMA Thrissur Local Chapter, also addressed the gathering. The event featured insightful sessions by Dr. Parvathy and Dr. Sini, who discussed the applications and advancements in Fuzzy Mathematics. A special tribute was paid to Ms. Dolly Augustine, the retiring Head of the Department, for her years of dedicated service. The seminar was coordinated by Ms. Jincy T. The Institution’s Innovation Council and the Department of Mathematics jointly organized a program titled "Innovative Practices in Traditional Medicine: An Insightful Visit to Thaikattu Moose Ayurveda" on 29th January 2025 at Vaidyaratnam Ayurveda Museum, Thaikkattussery. The event aimed to provide participants with a deeper understanding of traditional Ayurvedic medicine and its innovative practices. Through this visit, students and faculty explored the historical and cultural significance of Ayurveda, gaining practical insights into its methodologies, medicinal plant usage, and traditional healing techniques. The program fostered interdisciplinary learning by highlighting the intersection of mathematics and Ayurveda, encouraging innovative thinking and research possibilities. Participants also had the opportunity to engage with experts in the field, expanding their knowledge and networking for future academic collaborations. The second session was engaged by Professor Mohammed Shamsul Hoque Former HoD of English, Daffodil International University, Bangladesh who discussed the negative effects of AI and the importance of Offline Education and physical books and libraries and he also talked about the way of god.

The formal inauguration of the conference was conducted by the College Principal, Dr. Sr. Beena Jose. Esteemed dignitaries such as KSA President Prof. Dr. C. Satheesh Kumar, Prof. Dr. A.M. Mathai, Dr. Dhanya Johnson, Head of the Department Dr. Jismi Mathew, and Dr. Jerin Paul were also present at the occasion.
The session on Consumer Behaviour and Analytics, held on January 21, 2025, by the Post Graduate Department of Commerce and Research and the Vimala International Student Cell, featured Dr. David Tereladze, a Russian expert. This interactive one-hour session (9:15–10:15 am) provided insights into factors influencing consumer decisions and tools like data mining, predictive analytics, and segmentation. Key topics included psychological, cultural, and economic influences on consumer behavior, and comparisons between consumer behavior in Russia and India, emphasizing cultural and digital factors. On December 18, 2024, the Department of Psychology organized a heartwarming visit to the Autism Sisu Kshema Kendram, Thrissur. Students and staff spent a memorable half-day engaging in activities and connecting with the children. The program began with a soulful prayer by Sr. Christeena, followed by lively hosting by Anna Mariyam and Nadiya Musthafa, whose enthusiasm energized the event. The day featured a carol performance by first-year students, a joyful visit from Santa Claus, a cake-cutting ceremony, and a vibrant dance that added to the festive spirit. Interactive games like musical chairs and passing the ball encouraged participation and unity. The event concluded with everyone dancing together, leaving a lasting impact on all. A heartfelt vote of thanks by Nadiya Musthafa and closing remarks by Dr. Sinto P. Anto, Head of the Department, expressed gratitude to the staff of Autism Sisu Kshema Kendram for their warm hospitality. The PG Dept of Commerce and Research organized a National Level Management Fest – Ignite 2k25 – Business Track under the auspicious of Dr Sr Lissy John Irimpan Endowment Fund. The Life Insurance Corporation of India, Thrissur Division was the main sponsor of the event and Red FM, Thrissur was the Radio Partner. There were 304 participants from various colleges from Kerala and outside. The first prize for Best Management Team is bagged by Christ College, Irinjalakuda, the first prize for HR game is for Sahrdaya Institute of Management Studies, Kodakara and 2nd prize is for Christ College, Irinjalakkuda. MES Asmabi college bagged the first place in Group Choreography and 2nd place is bagged by Christ College, Irinjalakuda. Vimala College won the first prize for the event – Corporate Walk- the Fashion show. For Business Quiz, Sahradaya College won the first prize and Sri C Achuthamenon Govt College, Kuttanellur has got the second prize. For the event – Skill Quest, 1st prize was bagged by St Aloysious College, Elthuruth and 2nd prize was won by JMC school of management. For online event – Reel making, St College, Elthuruth and for Photography Universal engineering college have won.

The staff and students of Vimala College's Pain and Palliative Care Club paid a visit to St. Joseph's Special School in Cheroor as part of the Christmas festivities on Tuesday, 17th December 2024. By providing entertainment and offering to assist the kids with their everyday chores, the members spent time with the kids. Snacks were distributed to the kids with the assistance of financial contributions from the faculty and students. Music club members also joined in entertaining them with Christmas carols.
As part of entrepreneurial skill development programme second year B.Voc Food Processing students from Home Science department , Vimala college Thrissur conducted a event “THE FOODIE SPOT“ sale on 10th December 2024, at 11 am and the venue is leisure tower, which was Red velvet cup cake ( 25rs) and pastries (35rs per piece). Students, themselves deal the program from purchase of raw materials to sale of product. On 10th December morning B.voc food lab was busy with making products. Around 11:00 Am the cup cakes and pastries was ready to sale at the leisure tower. The entire process was co- ordinated by Mrs. Sherja K Rapheal and the student coordinator Pavithra OT. All students were actively participated in this event. This programme was very useful for the empowerment and development of student’s carrier.
On 6th December 2024, Department of Psychology, organized a seminar on "Role of Psychologists in Promoting Well-being" featured a comprehensive presentation by Mr. Devapramod V.B. He began by differentiating between psychologists, social workers, and psychiatrists, highlighting their unique roles in mental health care. Mr. Devapramod also discussed therapy versus counseling, emphasizing the importance of tailored interventions for individuals. The session covered various branches of psychology and their relevance to understanding the human mind. Additionally, Mr. Devapramod touched upon licensing requirements, career opportunities, and the future scope of psychology. The interactive Q&A segment allowed students to clarify doubts and gain valuable insights, making the session engaging and informative.

As part of World Food day a Food Photography Contest was organized by B Voc Food Processing, Department of Home Science on 22/11/2024 in an online platform to celebrate the art of capturing culinary delights and to recognize talented photographers who excel in this field. The event aimed to bring together professionals and enthusiasts to showcase their creativity and inspire others. After the judgement winners are announced for the prize voucher which is sponsored by village dairies and distributed by Dr. Thomas Ruby Mariamma, Head of Home science department.
The department of Sociology in collaboration with the Anti- narcotic club and UGC Centre for Women's Studies arranged an Anti-Drug Awarness program in the auditorium on 28/11/24 from 10 am to 12 noon. It was a highly informative and engaging session that aimed to educate students about the dangers of drugs, the risk associated with drugs and the importance of maintaining a healthy life style. The session began with a welcome speech by Dr Binu [Head of the Department of Sociology] followed by our esteemed Principal Dr Sister Beena Jose's Presidential address and a felicitation by Dr Sister Tency Varghese [Head of the department of English and The director of UGC Centre for Women Studies]. The session was conducted by Mr ASHOK KUMAR, Circle Inspector of Excise, Thrissur. The class covered topic on the dangers of drug abuse and its consequences. Students from various colleges came to participate in the competition. 15 team of participants registered for the event. There were, three rounds and 4 teams scored highest in the first 2 rounds qualified for the final round. Irfan and Tahir from Nirmala college, Chalakkudy won the 1st prize and Yathukrishna and Benhar won the 2nd prize. After the competitions the winners are announced for prizes and handed over prize by Dr. Thomas Ruby Mariamma , Head of Home science department.

Haritham- sale of organic vegetables was held on 10th September 2024 at the leisure tower.The sale was inaugurated by Rev Sr Alphonse Maria, Mother Superior of College Convent at 11:30 am with a flash mob staged by UG first semester students. Varieties of stalls of farm fresh vegetables and homemade snacks called much attention from students,teaching and non teaching staff of the college.The stalls had representation from both PG and UG Students of the department. The staff coordinator of the sale was Dr Sneha Gopeekrishna,Assistant Professor and student Coordinators Ms.Alana Thilak and Ms Sindhoora of third semester UG Economics.
