Haritham- sale of organic vegetables was held on 10th September 2024 at the leisure tower.The sale was inaugurated by Rev Sr Alphonse Maria, Mother Superior of College Convent at 11:30 am with a flash mob staged by UG first semester students. Varieties of stalls of farm fresh vegetables and homemade snacks called much attention from students,teaching and non teaching staff of the college.The stalls had representation from both PG and UG Students of the department. The staff coordinator of the sale was Dr Sneha Gopeekrishna,Assistant Professor and student Coordinators Ms.Alana Thilak and Ms Sindhoora of third semester UG Economics. The sale came to a close by 3:30 pm.

COMFEST 2024 has been celebrated today in an air of unbridled enthusiasm and youthful exuberance. The festival of fashion and flavour attracted 28 stalls and witnessed a day-long extravaganza filled with fun, frolic and business. The lip-smacking short eats and aesthetically crafted cosmetic accessories stoked a compelling fascination among the students. The event also featured a thrilling flash mob performance and lively welcome dance, which added to the excitement and energy of the occasion. This annual festival, conducted by the Department of Commerce with focus on improving marketing skills, carries an unbroken tradition, spanning more than a decade. The current year’s event has been organised by the first year B Com students.

"On Tuesday, August 27, 2024, the Department of Computer Science proudly hosted the 9th edition of their Inter-College IT Fest, 'Riti 9.0'. This vibrant event brought together students from approximately 25colleges, with around 300 participants showcasing their creative and technical skills in a diverse range of events. The fest provided a platform for students to demonstrate their talents, foster innovation, and engage in healthy competition. The department extends its gratitude to all participating colleges, students, and faculty members for making this event a resounding success".The fest was inaugurated by the budding robotics entrepreneur Mr Devadath PR and presided by the Principal Dr Sareena Rose and Ms Sangeetha M were the faculty coordinators and Angel Lin, Sheethal Paul and Navya Sunil were the student coordinators.

On the 15th of June, 2024, Department of Sociology of Vimala College (Autonomous), Thrissur, conducted a skit program at Gandhi Bhavan, Chembookavu. This initiative aimed to address the poignant issues related to old age, highlighting the emotional and social challenges faced by the elderly. The primary objective of the skit was to raise awareness about the various aspects of old age, including loneliness, neglect, and the need for companionship and care. Rajesh Komath, with his extensive experience and knowledge in the field of sociology, provided an in-depth exploration of social dynamics. Following the keynote address, there was an interactive session where students and faculty members engaged with Rajesh Komath, posing insightful questions and discussing real-world applications of the concepts covered. The Department of Sociology at Vimala College (Autonomous) organised an Orientation session for 1st year UG Sociology students on 26-06-2024. Speakers for the same were Ms. Anuja form the Department of Political Science and Mr.SreeKumar from the Department of History, Vimala College (Autonomous). Through this session the students were introduced to the new curriculum and the two minors the students will be learning this semester. Ms Anuja familiarised students with the syllabus of the minor paper (Political Science). A general orientation on the 4 year UG programme was given by Mr. SreeKumar. The resource persons also addressed the worries of students regarding the new Curriculum and implementation of NEP.
