Department of Botany Vimala College (Autonomous), Thrissur jointly organized a National seminar on Recent trends in Plant Biotechnology with KSCSTE (Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment) on 5^th and 6^th January 2023.

An Interdisciplinary Seminar was organized by the Department of Botany, Zoology, Chemistry and Home Science, Vimala College, Thrissur on 19/12/2022 on Recent Advances in Technology.

A Student Organized National Seminar and Workshop was conducted by Department of Botany Vimala College (Autonomous), Thrissur in collaboration with VETA Genomics Laboratory, Cheroor, Thrissur, - SWAP on 02/12/2022. Dr. J. Senthil Kumar, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Biotechnology, PSG College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore delivered the keynote address on the topic “Biotechnology- Basics and Opportunities Ahead” via google meet platform

Association Inauguration of Department of Botany Vimala College (Autonomous), Thrissur was conducted on 30th September 2022 at 10:30 am in Online Mode. Dr. Giby Kuriakose, Asst. Professor and HOD of Sacred Heart College, Thevara, inaugurated the Programme with a talk on higher education and career opportunities in Botany.

As a part of World Environment Celebration 2022, the Department of Botany of Vimala College Autonomous Thrissur in collaboration with St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli conducted a lecture on Intercollegiate online quiz competition on Biodiversity and a talk on Impact of climate change on Biodiversity from 6^th June to 7^th June 2022. An online quiz competition on 6^th June 2022 and 19 students from various colleges participated in the event.  Dr. S.Anusuya, Assistant Profressor, Dept. of Botany, St. Joseph's College (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli delivered a talk on Impact of climate change on Biodiversity on 7^th June 2022.

Enflammer – The Journal club, Department of Botany, Vimala College (Autonomous) Thrissur, Organized an Intercollege Caption Writing Competition as part of ‘World Wetland Day Celebration 2023’ through online platform from 2^nd February to 5^th February.

Enflammer – The Journal club, Department of Botany, Vimala College (Autonomous) Thrissur, organized a talk on the topic “How to prepare a PowerPoint presentation for seminar/competition” on 17/10/2022. The session was handled by Dr Karthika S Menon ,  Assistant Professor on contract Department of Botany, Vimala College (Autonomous), Thrissur.

Enflammer – The Journal club, Department of Botany, Vimala College (Autonomous) Thrissur, organized a talk on the topic “Art of designing a scientific paper” on 18/10/2022.The session was handled by Dr Jayalakshmi, M   Assistant Professor on contract, Department of Botany, Vimala College (Autonomous), Thrissur.

Department of Botany organized a Webinar VINSPIRATION- a motivational talk by alumnae on 30-11-2022 at 2-3 pm, through Google meet. Ms Athira K R, of 2013 batch of B.Sc. Botany and 2017 batch of M Sc Botany was the resource person.
