Activities of 2024 - 25 

Padma Shri Professor E. D. Jemmis, Honorary Professor at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, delivered an insightful talk on "Modern Undergraduate Education." The lecture emphasized the evolving landscape of undergraduate education and the need for adaptation to ensure that students are well-prepared for the future. Professor Jemmis highlighted how the traditional education system is undergoing significant transformations. He also discussed the impact of technological advancements and globalization on educational practices and methodologies. Prof. Jemmis emphasized the necessity for educational institutions to introduce more flexible learning structures & suggested that rigid curriculums need to be re-evaluated to cater to diverse student needs and interests. He also stressed the importance of integrating local education systems with global standards. He pointed out the benefits of adopting best practices from around the world to enhance the quality of education. During the talk he advocated for a shift towards a more student-centric educational model & emphasized the importance of personalized learning experiences that focus on the individual student's strengths, weaknesses, and career aspirations.
