As part of VISMAYAM 2024, the Department of Mathematics hosted POLARIS, a mathematics exhibition, on August 22, 2024. The event was officially inaugurated by Dr. Geetha Ramkumar, a retired scientist and former Head of the Atmospheric Dynamics Branch at VSSC, ISRO.Mathematics exhibitions play a crucial role in the curriculum, offering students an engaging way to explore mathematical concepts. POLARIS featured a range of exhibits, including static and interactive models, charts, and working demonstrations. Among the highlights were exhibits on the Butterfly Effect, illustrating principles from chaos theory, and the Konigsberg Bridge Problem, showcasing concepts from graph theory.To enhance the experience, the exhibition included a variety of games and competitions, making the event both educational and entertaining. The exhibition attracted significant participation from numerous schools and received positive feedback from attendees.
