The extension activities of the department intend to impart informal education to the students in multidimensional ways. ‘Nelkrishi Padashaala’ helps the students to gain knowledge and information on the practical aspects of farming. ‘Haritham’ provides support to the organic farmers of the nearby panchayaths and also creates a sense of awareness in student community on organic farming methods that sustains the land, people and ecosystems. Pakalveedu and old age home visits sensitize the students about their responsibilities to the society with special focus on providing support and services to elderly people. These extension activities inspire the young minds with the significance of being a socially responsible citizen and the relevance of adapting traditional and sustainable development practices.
