HISTORY

       Post Graduate and Research Department of Malayalam department started on 1968 .It started with BA Malayalam course for promoting our language and literature and also concentrated to generate language consciousness among other students through additional language .Sr. Mary Cruz was the first HOD of the department and Prof. C. L Antony, eminent linguistic scholar was our visiting faculty during the first span of the department.In 2019 department recognised as Research Centre of Calicut University with four research guides. The department consists of 8 permanent faculties in which 6 have PhD. Since SANSKRIT is our complimentary course, in UG and PG, from the starting onwards we have a  permanent sanskrit faculty.
