        An inter university poetry versification competition conducted annually in honour of DR  Sr Lekha,principal and former hod of department.

Award winner is SREENANDHA  B , BA English , St Josephs College, Devagiri

         Department conducts Reading week  in  June with a book exhibition and sale. Literary talks and cultural programs included

TOPPERS DAY

         Department initiates to inspire accademic excellence of students by conducting award day after the univesity results.Cash prizes given to UG-PG  toppers

MOTHER TONGUE DAY

        Department celebrating mathrubasha dinam with the students of various departments ,who have different mother tongues other than malayalam

        On November first of every year department conducts keralapiravi celebration with cultural programs ane events remembering the  formation of kerala.
