The Department is a recognised research centre under Calicut University and FOUR faculty members have Research Guideship.

Research Centre Outcome:

To promote the reading of and the research in areas pertaining to Malayalam Literature and Kerala culture.
To uplift the research capabilities of the department and the faculty in ways that can capacitate them to be effective mentors to prospective scholars.
To provide the necessary academic and infrastructural support.
To provide a space for upcoming scholars to share as well as imbibe knowledge.
To collaborate with potential cultural and academic organizations to support the students in their research undertaken.
