Post Graduate and Research Department of Physics was established in 1967. The Department of Physics evolved into the first Post-Graduate Science department (1998) and the First Science Research Centre (2013) of Vimala College. The Department caters to the academic needs of hundreds of physics aspiring young minds. Right from its inception under the able leadership of Rev Sr. Aurea C M C, the Department steadily progressed to meet the curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular demands of its students. Being a department supplemented by essential research expertise (four research guides), we take initiatives for research activities with all the available facilities. Equipped with a DST-FIST lab, the department is able to carry out research oriented UG and PG projects, inter- departmental, inter-collegiate and university research collaboration.
