AGNI  2K24

AGNI-2K24, the flagship annual event organized by the Department of Physics, Vimala College (Autonomous), Thrissur, was held in commemoration of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the former President of India and the esteemed "Missile Man of India," on his death anniversary. This year, the program took the form of a state-level intercollegiate quiz competition. The event was hosted by Mr. Justin John, Assistant Professor at St. Berchmans College, Changanassery, who served as the quiz master. The competition comprised four rounds- a preliminary round, an audio-visual round, a 'find me' round, and a final round-each designed to challenge the participants through diverse question formats and topics. A total of 15 teams, each consisting of two students, took part in the contest. The first prize, a cash award of ₹5,000, was secured by Mr. Nadeem and Mr. Mohannad Ijaz, MBBS students from Government Medical College, Thrissur. Mr. Sreerag R and Mr. Delwin C. Raju from Sri Vyasa NSS College won second place, while the third prize went to Mr. Thejus N. S and Mr. Darious N. Johnson from Christ College, Irinjalakkuda. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across the state and was made successful by the dedicated efforts of the faculty and students of the Department of Physics. Prizes were distributed by Dr. Malini K. A., Professor, Department of Physics. The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Santhosh P. Jose, the faculty coordinator, marking the formal closure of the event. AGNI-2K24 stood out as a memorable celebration of knowledge, competition, and the enduring legacy of Dr. Kalam.

AGNI  2K23

AGNI is a flagship programme organized by Postgraduate & Research Department of Physics, Vimala College (Autonomous) Thrissur, every year as a tribute to the former president Dr A P J Abdul Kalam, 'The Missile Man of India', on his death anniversary. AGNI 2K23 - An Interdepartmental Quiz Competition on 'Mission Chandrayaan' was conducted by first-year PG Students in light of the successful launch of Chandrayaan 3. The quiz comprised three rounds, including a preliminary round, a visual (picture) quiz, and a rapid-fire round. Students competed as a team of 2 and over 10 teams registered. Christine T C & Jyothika P K 3rd year BSc Physics secured the first position and awarded with a cash prize of ₹1000/-. Nazrin Nazar &, Bharathy Sharma of BSc Sociology got 2nd position and Ninu Jacob & Ankita of BSc Zoology secured 3rd position. As a token of appreciation certificates were distributed to the winners.

AGNI  2K22

On the occasion of the seventh death anniversary of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the Missile Man of India, the Post Graduate and Research Department of Physics organized a painting competition. The theme of the exhibition held at the Department of Physics on 26th and 27th July 2022 in connection with NAAC peer team visit. The artworks captured the essence and spirit of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, paying tribute to his remarkable contributions to science, education, and the nation. Greeshma A.K. from S5 BSc Chemistry secured the first position, Milinda Rose George S5 BSc Physics earned the second position and Mariam Elizabeth Jerry S5 BA Functional English secured the third position. To acknowledge their exceptional artistic abilities, certificates were presented to the winners as a token of appreciation.

AGNI  2K21

In honour of  Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the Missile Man of India, on his sixth death anniversary, the Post Graduate & Research Department of Physics, Vimala College (Autonomous), Thrissur conducted an Online Quiz competition for college and school students. The awareness quiz was widely welcomed by all categories of students spanning from 6th standard to PG in various disciplines. There were two levels of questions. Level 1 received 362 responses and Level 2 received 219. E-certificate of appreciation were issued to all who scored 75% in the Online quiz.

AGNI  2K20

In honour of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, the missile man of India, an online quiz arranged on 27/7/2020. The quiz was open to public and over 1000 responses were received. Final year MSc Students published a video in order to aware the students and society about Dr APJ Abdul Kalam's life and his contribution to India

 

 AGNI  2K19 

Organized an interdepartmental quiz competition AGNI 2K19 in honour of Late Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, the former president of India. The competition was coordinated by third semester MSc Physics students. The first prize winners were Amrutha Manoj K and Dona Paulose of first year Bsc Physics. The second and third positions went to Niya Baby, Aiswarya S of second year Bsc Physics and Meenu O, Divya Davis of second year Bsc Physics.

 

AGNI  2K18

Department of Physics conducted an interdepartmental power point presentation competition in memory of  Dr A P J Abdul Kalam, the Missile Man of India on his 3rd death anniversary AGNI 2K18 on 27 July /201) in the silver jubilee seminar hall. Videos on the glimpses of life and achievement of Dr A P J was displayed during the program

AGNI  2K17

Department of Physics conducted  a program in memory of Dr A P J Abdul Kalam, the Missile Man of India on 27 July 2017, on his second death anniversary. The quiz programme was named as “AGNI 2K17” based on life and contributions of Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam. Ms. Jayalakshmi K and Ms.BoniyaAleyas (3rd  semester M.Sc. students)  were the quiz masters. 13 teams participated in the quiz programme. Five teams were selected for the final round. This was a complete student initiated programme. All the arrangements were done by M.Sc. students

  

AGNI  2K16

Interdepartmental essay writing competition was conducted on the occasion of  first death anniversary of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam. The topic of essay was ‘Dr APJ Abdul Kalam-Architect of Indian Space Programmes.  26 students participated in the competition. Ms Divya Muraleedharan of S3 B Com, Ms Priyatha P K of S5 B Com and Ms SreelakshmiT  S of S1 Physics secured first second and third positions respectively. The winners were awarded cash prizes
